We’re here to reassure you & answer any queries about our Indian cooking classes at Sharmini’s Inspirational Indian Cuisine Cookery School!

1. I have never cooked Indian food before. Is this class suitable for beginners?

Absolutely! Our classes are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned cooks. No prior experience is required—we guide you step by step,ensuring everyone feels comfortable and can learn at their own pace.

2. What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

We accommodate all dietary needs, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and allergy-friendly options.

We send out Health Forms to be completed by all participants before the Cookery session. These forms allow us to accomodate any allergies or dietary requirements you have to ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.

3. Indian cooking seems complicated. Will I be able to follow along?

Yes! We simplify recipes into easy-to-follow steps and use accessible ingredients. You will be amazed at how achievable, simple and enjoyable cooking Indian cuisine can be.

4. I’m not sure I have enough time for a class. How long do they take?

We offer flexible class durations, including shorter options of 4 hours

Full day classes are 6 hours long, making them a perfect Saturday activity

5. What if I feel awkward in a group setting?

Our classes are warm, friendly, and inclusive, designed to create a relaxed atmosphere where you can connect with like-minded individuals.

With only 89 participants per session, we ensure a personal experience and can provide individual attention whenever needed

6. Are the classes worth the cost?

Absolutely! Our classes provide hands-on experience, recipe folder and ingredients plus expert guidance. Plus, you’ll enjoy delicious food to recreate dishes at home.

7. How is the day structured ?

The day begins with a talk on understanding and using spices, followed by demonstrations

Half-Day Session: You will prepare 3 dishes hands-on and enjoy a couple of demonstrations to enhance your skills and understanding of Indian cooking techniques.

Full-Day Session: You will prepare around 5/6 dishes, complemented by additional demonstrations to deepen your knowledge and culinary expertise.

Both sessions are designed to provide a rich and immersive experience in Indian cuisine!

8. What should I bring with me?

Bring along a few food storage containers and a cooler bag so you can take home the delicious dishes you’ll create. It’s a wonderful way to share your cooking with family and friends!

9. Do we get to savour the curries/dishes we prepared during the lunch break in a full-day session?

During the lunch break, you’ll enjoy the dishes you prepared earlier in the session. Each dish serves two, so there will be plenty to take home and share with your family!

10. Will coffee and tea be provided?

Yes, complimentary coffee and tea will be available throughout the session for your enjoyment.

11. Can I bring my child with me?

Yes, children aged 12 and above are welcome to join as if you both of you are registered as paying participants.

12. Can my family come along while I attend the session?

Definitely! You can park your car at the school for free, and your family can take a direct bus to our stunning York city centre.

They can spend a relaxing day exploring and return to join you afterward. It’s an ideal family outing!

13. If I arrive by train, how can I reach the school?

Our school is easily accessible by bus, with a direct connection from right outside the train station. This makes travelling to and from the school convenient.
